3rd Grade Curriculum

What your child will be studying in 3rd Grade?

Science:

Cells, life cycles, simple machines, forces and energy, fossils, rocks & minerals

Math:

Number sense and numeration, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions and decimals, geometry, measurement, and statistics & probability

Social Studies

Map and globe skills, government, citizenship, communities, and the Creek and Cherokee history in Georgia.

Language Arts

Grammar, punctuation, capitalization, spelling patterns, cursive handwriting, oral communication, research and reference skills, writing process, listening skills, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Health

Tobacco, drug and alcohol awareness, circulatory and respiratory systems, family living, mental health, nutrition, personal hygiene, and safety/first aid.
